Albert van Westing
With his photographs and videos, Albert van Westing shows everyday acts like writing, sitting and reading plunge us into a state of concentration and intimate separation. Van Westing focuses on the attention with which people perform these acts.

For the exhibition, Van Westing has created two series.

Vincent: we see a series of of 18 prints in which, with concentration, a painter carefully applies white paint, obliterating the graffiti sprayed onto an electricity sub-station.

Ongeluk (Accident): a series of 5 prints in black and white dots of the remnants of cars after a car crash. Instead of trauma and sensation, like in Andy Warhol’s graphic pictures of car crashes and of David Cronenberg’s film Crash, here there is calmness and distance.
